Ingredients:
FOR THE AVO ‘BUTTER’
- 1 avocado
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) lime juice
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) avocado or olive oil
- pinch crushed garlic
- pinch ground cumin
- Salt and pepper
- 2 pita breads
- 16 x 3 cm pretzel sticks
- 125 ml (½ cup) veggies, chopped or sliced
- 100 g cheddar, thinly sliced
Description
Method:
- For the avo butter, mash all the ingredients with a fork until there are no lumps. Season with salt and pepper.
- For the trees, cut each pita into 8 wedges. Insert a pretzel stick into the middle at the bottom of each wedge to form a ‘tree trunk’.
- Pipe (using a small star nozzle) or spread the avo butter over the wedges. Decorate the trees with the veggies.
- Use a 3 cm star cutter to cut the cheese into stars and place at the top of each tree. Serve immediately.
- Use your favourite veggies like bell peppers, cooked corn kernels and blanched baby peas.
- A blender works great to make the avo butter if you have electricity.
